Deciding to start counselling in Swords can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to do it alone. If you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, our first conversation is simply a space to explore what’s bringing you here. There’s no pressure, just an opportunity to see if therapy feels right for you.
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation, giving you a chance to share a little about what’s been happening and why now feels like the right time to start therapy. This is also a space to ask any questions you might have about how I work, so you can get a sense of whether we’re a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we’ll arrange your first full session and begin your therapy journey at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
Therapy is a collaborative process, shaped around your unique experiences, needs, and goals. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is the vehicle for change, and so I focus on building a strong, trusting connection where you feel safe, understood, and supported.
I offer psychotherapy and counselling online, working with individuals who are navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem. My approach is based on compassion, kindness, and flexibility, adapting to meet each client’s individual needs. Within an integrative framework, I draw from mindfulness, psychodynamic, humanistic, and trauma-informed psychotherapy, helping you explore emotions, patterns, and relationships in a way that feels right for you. My role is to support, resource, and remind you of your strengths and abilities, so that, over time, you can navigate life with greater confidence, clarity, and ease.

I work with trauma on many different levels, from single-event trauma, such as a car accident, to ongoing exposure to trauma from a young age, and everything in between. Whether your experiences are recent or long past, we can explore them safely, without rushing, in a way that feels manageable for you.
By inviting the connection between mind and body in our sessions, we can experience growth, healing, and self-knowledge. Getting to know yourself in a connected, holistic way can be transformative. Somatic work allows us to tune into the body’s wisdom, helping you feel more grounded and present in daily life.
A mindful approach to therapy means working at your own pace, in a way that feels safe and comfortable. There’s no pressure to rush through your experiences—just space to explore, reflect, and process in your own time. By incorporating mindfulness into therapy, we can bring more awareness, acceptance, and emotional regulation into everyday life.
How long does therapy last?
There’s no set timeframe for therapy—it depends on your personal needs and goals. Some people attend for a short period to work through a specific issue, while others engage in long-term therapy for deeper exploration and growth. We will regularly check in to see how therapy is working for you.
How often are sessions?
Most clients attend therapy once a week, as consistency is key to the process. However, frequency can be adjusted based on your needs and circumstances.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes, I offer online therapy for clients across Ireland, the UK, and Europe. Online sessions offer a flexible and accessible way to engage in therapy.
What if I’m not sure therapy is right for me?
That’s completely understandable. Therapy is a deeply personal journey, and it’s important to find the right fit. A free consultation gives us the chance to talk through any concerns and see whether therapy feels like the right next step for you.
What happens in the first session?
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin exploring what’s bringing you to therapy. We’ll talk about what you’re struggling with, what you’d like to work on, and what you hope to get from therapy. There’s no pressure to share everything at once—we go at a pace that feels right for you.
Will I have to talk about my past?
Only if and when you feel ready. Some clients want to explore their past experiences, while others prefer to focus on their current challenges. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together in a way that feels safe and supportive for you.
Is everything I say in therapy confidential?
Yes, therapy is a confidential space, and what you share stays between us. The only exceptions to this are if there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or if required by law. If you have any concerns about confidentiality, we can discuss them in your first session.
Do I need to prepare anything before my session?
No preparation is needed. Therapy is a space for you to show up exactly as you are. Some clients find it helpful to reflect on what they’d like to talk about beforehand, but there’s no right or wrong way to approach it.
What if I don’t know what to say?
That’s completely okay. Therapy is a space where you don’t have to have all the answers. If you’re not sure where to start, I’ll gently guide the conversation and help you feel at ease. Some of the most important work in therapy happens in the moments of silence and reflection.
